This green jay was absolutely so much fun to draw! The bright colors, the soft, delicate transitions. It feels as if she's dancing, and that was how I felt as I was drawing her. I hope you enjoy looking at this piece as much as I enjoyed creating it!
I use the highest quality professional art materials. To get those smooth colors, I used Faber-Castel Polychromos and Caran d'Ache Luminance colored pencils. These pencils are oil-based. I also used PanPastels pastels to create the background.
The paper is Strathmore Bristol Vellum, which is a thick paper (300g) with a good texture which allows me to place many layers of pigment on.
In order to get a painting-effect, I use 6-11 layers of pigments which smooth into a glossy effect once all the tooth of the paper is covered. Most of my drawings of this size take me 10-16 hours to complete!
All of my drawings are done with love and passion. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did creating them.
